James Studman
James has over 40 years’ experience within the construction industry, achieving RICS Chartered status in 2010. Has worked on the Commercial Management of rail infrastructure projects, such as cross-rail and station and depot upgrade works for London Underground. Other traditional construction works include working on parts on the Broadgate development in the City of London and student accommodation projects. Familiar with most standard industry forms of construction contract, JCT, NEC and FIDIC.
In recent times working on Housing Disrepair for predominantly public sector residents. Registered Expert Witness with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). Expert Witness work is undertaken by James Solely. Commitments provided to each fee proposal confirming, impartiality and no conflicts of interest, the knowledge expertise for the task, and availability to complete within the time scale.
Quantum and Forensic Analysis
Quantum and forensic analysis of accounts in dispute are undertaken and a CPR compliant Expert Witness report provide complete with a Scott Schedule. This are produced for evidence in Court or other Tribunal. Subject areas can include such matters as construction, dilapidations, and professional negligence.
All Expert Witness Reports produced are compliant with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR). And RICS code of practice. Regardless of who is paying for the report, the Experts duty is to assist the court and therefore impartial. Acting as single, joint and court appointed expert to undertake the task in hand.
- Commercial management and financial control of construction projects.
- Assessment and analysis of change on the project. Internal reporting, control, and monitoring of the project.
- Familiar with most standard industry forms of construction contract, JCT, NEC and FIDIC.
- Ensuring payments are made in timely manner and are Construction Act compliant.
- Early dispute resolution and more importantly , dispute avoidance.
